I’m so upset.

That is our Christmas Tree. I’m so upset, it’s so tiny and sad, It doesn’t even stand upright, it tips over. Usually, our trees are huge, but this year, my dad decided that we should have a small tree. We are going to be out of town (actually, out of state, we’re going to Texas) for Christmas, and he didn’t want to clean up a tree if we aren’t even going to be in town.

Does that tree remind you of anything? Maybe a Charlie Brown Tree?

Argh, it’s just so sad, there arent even any presents under it, since we have to ship them to Texas.

Whatever. I’m excited about going to visit my grandparents and Aunt and Uncle and Cousins in Texas, it should be really fun. Let’s hope they have a nice, big tree. I’m leaving on the 22nd, next friday. Yay!

Dear Northwoods Beanie,

I’m sorry to say that It’s over between us, and You know what? I’m glad. You where Ornery and Annoying and mean to me. Despite how cute you are, you where a pain in the butt. Our time together lasted entirely too long, and Now that it’s over between us, I’m moving on to someone who’s nicer to me and easier to get along with. I hope that you and my cousin will be very happy together.

-Kaity

Pattern: Northwoods Beanie
Yarn: Wool Ease (Why is everything I knit made from Wool Ease?!)
Needles: US Size 7 16″ Circular, and another US Size 7 Circular for doing the rounds at the top.

So, I know I said that I thought that I was done with Christmas Knitting, but I was wrong. After re-evaluating my Gift list and my budget, It seems I’m in need of onne more hat and a scarf. Oy, when will it be Kaity Time?

I know you’ve been waiting!

To hear about how the Knitty Gritty taping went. Well, it went awesome! I wasn’t too nervous, so I’m hoping that I don’t look like a nervous wreck on TV. All the producers and the director and even Vickie told me how well I did, so, that’s cool! Wanna see pictures? Ok!

From left to right: Me, the other Designer, Hana, Vickie Howell, and Our cute little Knitsters.

Yay! It was soo fun, I told them that if they ever want me on again, or need another Knitster, to let me know. Everyone was super nice, too.

So, remember how I was making that Hermione hat? Well, I emailed my aunt with a list of hat patterns so she could pick which one she though my cousin would like the best, and she picked the Northwoods Beanie. So, I ripped Hermione and now I’ve got this:

And you know what? IT’S TAKING ME FOREVER! Argh. Oh well, I’ll stick to it, it will be done soon enough. Then I think i’m done with Christmas knitting, woo hoo!!!

PS: I don’t know when my episode will air yet, but I will let you know.

Looks different Around here, doesn’t it? I thought I should get Festive,so I did. I might change it If I find something better, but until then, It’s snowing on my blog!

Speaking of Christmas, We got our lights up Yesterday!

You can’t really tell, but Our lights are Patriotic. Red, White, and Blue. I guess because it matches our flag? I dunno, but I’ll be sure to show ya a Picture of our tree once we get it up.

Last but not least, I finished the Ribbing on the Hermione Hat:

That took forever!! Now I get to move on to fun stuff!

Another One Checked Off The List!

Yesterday at rehearsal went awesome, I went over all I had to do on Monday when we tape, and I got to meet Amy Singer!!! It was very cool. Amy was there filming her show. I wonder who else will be there on Monday. I didn’t get to meet my Knitsters yet, and I didn’t get to meet Vickie, she was pretty busy. But, hopefully I won’t be a nervous wreck on Monday. Mom will take plenty of pictures, so I’ll give ya a behind-the-scenes look.

Check off one more hat off my Christmas Knit List, here’s my dad’s Hat. I got my brother to model it for me:

Crappy Picture, I know. There is something weird goin on with the camera, I’m hoping to buy myself a new one with my Christmas Money. Ok, anyway, It’s basically the same as my brother’s Green hat I made, but this one is blue. I was going to put Gray stripes on it, but When I got to that point, I was at school, and I forgot my gray yarn. So, It’s boring and Blue. I’m thinking about duplicate stitching something on it, I just don’t know what, yet.

Next up on the Christmas List, A Hermione Hat for my cousin who I’m going to visit in Texas soon. A Black one, probably.

Watch for my next post for Knitty gritty Pictures.

I’ve got no good title, Sorry.

Oy, today, I froze my booty off at school, no joke, I was so cold. Well, technically it wasn’t all that cold, but there where some feirce winds goin’ on, and I had to sit at the bus stop for about half an hour on a cold Bench. Tomorrow, I’m bundling up, because Holey-Freakin’-Moley I was freezing. Hats and scarves for me!

Speaking of hats, I can check off one of the Gifts from my Christmas List, a Hat for my brother. Here’s a Crap-tastic picture for ya:

Yarn: Wool Ease
Needles: US Size 8 16″ Circular and DPNs
Pattern: London Beanie

Just your basic Beanie, My dad is getting one just like it, but Blue with gray stripes. I finished the ribbing on that one, but I really have to get my Knitty Gritty stuff finished up, so that’s what I’ll be doing tomorrow.

Thanks to all of you who wished me good luck on Monday, I’ll try to get a picture of Me with Vickie Howell for yah. Night!!

I’m Back!

How was your Thanksgiving? Good? I got home from our little mini-vacation Yesterday, very tired. But, I’m rested up today and ready to show you what I did!

Check it out!

That’s a bad picture of me, weaving! My grandma brought her mini Portable Loom with her and taugh me how, It’s really fun. I whipped out these 2 scarves!

The Green-ish turned out much too short, so I’m going to Donate it to my mom’s Christmas Knits thingie. The Stripey one is for me. Weaving is really fun (and Easy!), I think I have a new Hobby (Yeah, Like I need another one). Anyway, Isn’t that cool?! I think so.

So, a little while ago, my dad told me he wanted me to make him “a hat with those twisty things on it” (Cables), so I brought home the Basic Cable Hat I made for myself a while bag to ask him if he wanted one like that. Then he took it and put it on his head and said “Thanks!”  Argh, he stole my hat… Oh well, It’s one of his favorites, he wore it all weekend:

What a lame-o. At least he’s happy and not bugging me to work on the Fake-Isle hat I’m supposed to be making for him.

I also sat down and made a list of Christmas Gifts that I have to knit:

-Hat for my Dad (He Loves that hats)
-Hat for my Brother (Because I’ve only knit him one before)
-Hat for my Cousin (I got her name for our little Gift Exchange)
-Scarf for my Sister (She likes scarves)
-Scarf for my Bestest friend
-Something for my other cousin (Maybe a hat? I dunno.)

Oy, I better get my butt in gear and get going. Filming for my Knitty Gritty Episode is on Monday, I’m so nervous!!

Hey, LOOK!

November 21, 2006 at 5:03 am | Posted in Uncategorized | 4 Comments

I’ve got knitting in this post! I got some cool new sock yarn today, and That always makes me happy. Check it out:

That’s Austermann Step, which is this really cool sock yarn with Aloe and Jojoba in it, It doesn’t really look or feel all that soft in the ball, but once you start knitting with it… Holey Moley, It’s soooooooooooooooooo soft. Oy, I wish you could feel it. Plus, the colorway I picked is super-cool. Red and Black? Very Punk. I’m doing this pair Toe-up. I also tryed a new thing, the Turkish cast-on, which was very difficult at first, but look at how nice my toe looks!

You can barely tell where the toe started, And I think once I do it more, than you won’t be able to tell at all. Very cool. Turkish Cast-on, you are my friend.

So, tomorrow I’m bringing The wristwarmers for Mary-kay with me to school to knit during my Hour long break, because I’m almost done with them, I just have to buckle down and do it.

This could possibly be my last post before I leave for Thanksgiving, I’ll try to find something good to blog about before I go.

November 19, 2006 at 11:49 pm | Posted in Uncategorized | 1 Comment

I have nothing to blog about lately. I’m working on Mary-Kay’s wristwarmers which are taking me forever for some reason, and I’m working on some Knitty Gritty stuff, too. When I finish the wrist warmers I might have new Blog material. I might be getting new sock yarn on monday, so maybe look for a pair of socks? Who Knows. I’ll be interesting soon, I promise.

Yarn in a Tree

I told ya I’d have a picture. This is that wool that I spun at a Sport Weight, then dyed it with Kool-aid. 5 packets of Grape and 3 of Black Cherry, to be exact. Pretty, huh? I dunno, purple isn’t really my color, and I don’t know what The heck I’ll do with it. I don’t like purple all that much. I was going to dye it dark green or blue, but I couldn’t find any Kool-aid that color, so It’s purple.

I got my classes for next semester figured out today, too. So far, it look like I’ll be taking English 1, Cultural Anthropology, Political Science, and Race and Ethnic Group Relations. I’m not excited about any of those, they all sound boooooooooooooring, but, You gotta do what you gotta do.

Edited to Add: If you guys think this yarn is really that pretty, then I’d be happy to trade someone something for it. I dunno, a ball of sock yarn or something like that? Let me know.
