My mom is leaving this weekend for a Retreat, and so it’s just the kids and my dad, so, my dad said he was gonna take us camping. Aparently, where we are going is going to be cold, in the mountains and snow and stuff. So, I knit myself some new mittens:

Pattern: Gifted Mittens
Yarn: 2 strands of Cascade 220 held together (One was a solid color, the other was Heathered, so it looks slightly variegated.)
Needles: US Size 10.5

I knit these really quick, maybe a few hours all together. These should be nice and warm for the cold. Now, I am waiting for my Knit Picks yarn to get here so I can start my Red Light Special.

Just a quick post before I go babysit.

Here’s a picture of the socks I made for my sister, that she took herself in the drive-thru of our local Starbucks:

Yarn: Colinette “Jitterbug“, one skein in “Florentina”
Needles: 2 Circulars, Addi Turbo’s Size 2
Pattern: Toe Up, 60 stitches around, 2×2 rib on instep, short row heel method from this pattern, 12 rounds of ribbing for the cuff.

She picked the yarn and requested footies.

Saturday Music Listen

Ok, 10 songs I’ve been really into this week.

1. “The Drunk Hounds” by Matthew Winters (My cousin’s cousin. My 2nd cousin?).
2. “The Sun Never Shines (on Closed Doors)” by Flogging Molly.
3. “Take On Me” by a-Ha.
4. “Wake Up” by Coheed and Cambria.
5. “Should I Stay or Should I Go” by The Clash.
6. “Do You Want To” by Franz Ferdinand.
7. “Cold Hard Bitch” by JET
8. “You Give Me Something” by James Morrison
9. “Dead!” by My Chemical Romance
10. “Stone Cold Crazy” by Queen.

And I finished those socks for my sister, you’ll have to wait for a picture, because when I gave them to her, she put them on her feet and wore them out to hang out with her friends, and I couldn’t find the camera in time to take a picture. So, wait until Tomorrow.

Rainy Rainy Day

February 22, 2007 at 11:17 pm | Posted in Blah Blah Blah | 5 Comments

It’s raining, and it’s cold. But, good for me, I went out on my morning walk anyway, in the cold and rain. It sucked, but I did it anyway. I need my excercize.

I also shipped out 2 more orders from my shop today, I sold out both of my DPN Organizers, now I gotta make some more. Oh, and Tammy got her sock yarn the other day. Yay! This is so fun, 3 orders so far!

And, I treated myself to some yarn, and ordered 4 balls of Telemark from KnitPicks for the Red Light Special Hat. I got these colors:

It was hard to pick colors, not knowing what the hat is gonna look like when it’s done, but, I think this will work out well. Tonight, I’m going to Knit Night at the LYS, and I really need to finish the socks I’m making for my sister. I should get a good chunk done while I’m there.

I’ll leave you with a picture from my walk yesterday:

It’s a crappy picture, I had to use my camera phone, but I though it was pretty.

I took my little sister to the Yarn store to pick out sock yarn so I could make her some footies, and she picked This pretty Colinette yarn, good taste!! She was originally going to go with the Claudia’s Handpainted, but it said “Handwash” on the label, to which she relpied “Yeah Right!”.

So, I’m making socks. And that’s all I’m knitting lately. I was working on my Squirrel mittens, but I was sick of Colorwork, I wanted something mindless for a while.

PS: A big “THANK YOU!” and a Hug to everyone who left me a nice comment about my Shop, I appreciate it!

It’s pretty small right now, there isn’t very much in there, but that’s just because I’m just opening up. So, go look!!!

And one more thing…

Wrist-y Things

Like the new blog look? I do.

I needed a quick knit, inspired by Heather’s post about her daughter;

So I had one.

Yarn: Cascade 220
Needles: US Size 6 Double Pointed

I used my basic wristwarmer pattern but increased the cast-on number to 40 stitches because of a tighter guage. I love them, I wore them to school today, and they kept me nice and toasty.

Also, I don’t think I ever posted a picture or my progress on the Squirrel Mittens:

Eeek! They are sooo cute!!! I’m tempted to just cast off right there and make it a cuff-thingie, although I never really understood why people wear those…

I do think, however, that I’m gonna make them fingerless, rather than full mittens. I don’t have that big of use for mittens, so.

I have Friday and Monday off from school, and since I don’t go on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I don’t have school until next Wednesday! Whoa, that’s a long time. What am I gonna do with myself?

I hope all of you lucky people with Valentines had a nice day, or as my friend calls it “Single Awareness Day”. Yep, that’s me.

Yup…

I was wondering around the house trying to find a place to take picture of my sister’s scarf, and my dad said “Here, give it to me.”

Yup, that’s my dad…

I’m up to 22 inches, not much.

I haven’t knit one stitch today, maybe I will tonight, maybe not. Who knows? All I know is it rolls like a… something that rolls a lot. Blocking will certainly be needed.
