Guess what the UPS guy brought me while I was carving pumpkins at my Grandma’s house? My roving Swap package!! Woo hoo! Check out all my new Furs:
I got some Finn-Merino sheep’s wool, Wendsleydale Combed Top, Blue-Faced Leicester (SO SOFT AND FLUFFY!!), and two hanks or hand-dyed Superwash Merino. I forgot to put this other ball of roving into the picture, Border Leicester Sheep that’s kinda Brown and White. And I got a bunch of other goodies, including some fancy soap and chapstick. Maybe this package will get me back into the Spinning Spirit, my poor wheel has some spider webs on it! So sad. A big ol’ “THANK YOU!” to my swap present-giver; KATY (nice name, by the way.)
Tomorrow or the next Day i’ll have pictures of My Jack-o-lantern, Costume, and maybe Party Pics. Happy Halloween!
I have more buddies for you to meet! First, this is Jack:
Jack is a ladie’s man, and one happy fella. The girlies can’t resist him. Can you blame them?! He’s my favorite.
Next, we have Bella:
Bella wants to be a Professional Dancer when she grows up. She’s already got the Look.
Jack and Bella are about the same size, here’s an Idea of how tiny they are:
Ah! I love him!! I’ve been using Avocadolite Farm as my Inspiration. I have no pattern for these guys, I just make them up as I go. And now i’m going to go make another. Who knows what it will end up being. Maybe a Girlfriend for Jack?
Oh yeah… Halloween is coming! I have no idea what I’m going to Dress Up as. I should probably figure that out soon.
This is my new friend Penny:
She has some serious ‘tude:
Although, she mostly sleeps all day:
I’m telling ya, Amigurumi is my new favorite thing. It’s so fun. And you end up with cute little dolls like our friend Penny, here (Here name is Penny because she has pennies in her butt so that she can sit up). Very cool. Here are the details:
Yarn: Some grey stuff, some white acrylic stuff, and some red and black stuff (Sorry I couldn’t be more specific, but I don’t really know what they where. The grey might have been Wool-ease.)
Hook: US Size G
Pattern: Amineko Crochet Cat
Ok, I’m off to go search the inter-web for more Amigurumi patterns and inspiration. Night!!
So this is about the coolest thing I’ve ever made. I love him. So does my brother, he tryed to steal him. And my sister’s boyfriend liked him, too. I am not making another one anytime soon, because this was Flippin’ hard! I made it up as I went, because I had no pattern. I love doing Amigurumi (Crocheting Dolls), super fun. I think I’m going to make some of the other Characters, too.
RED: Caron Simply Soft
SKIN: Some random acrylic from my stash.
His face was embroidered in a bunch of different colors I had lying around.
Check out the pillowcase I made. The fabric store next to my LYS had this hanging on their wall, and I went in to buy some and they where sold out. Then I went back about a month later, Still sold out. The lady said that they couldn’t keep the Cowboys on the shelf, haha. Then, on Monday my grandma gave me the fabric. Woo hoo! heh heh.
A big ol’ THANK YOU to everyone who left me a nice “Congratulations!” in my last post. I really appreciate it!
I have been in a Crocheting mood lately, so I started a new project, a blanket:
I’m loosely basing it on the Sudoku blanket from the latest Knit.1 magazine. I figure if I make each panel out of 4 squares, then i’ll need about 20 to make it. 80 squares. They go pretty darn fast, I can finish a panel in a day. But, if I want each panel to be a different color, I’ll need 20 colors! I’m making it out of Wool-ease, and my stash doesn’t have that many colors in it. And, since money is not exactly Abundant in my wallet, this project’s time period may be dependant on when I can afford the Yarn for it. Oh well, it’s fun to make anyway.
Ok, I’ve got big news, people! Do any of you out there watch Knitty Gritty on DIY network? Well… I’M GOING TO BE ON IT! And not just as a Knitster, as a Guest Designer! Woohoo! I’m so excited! I would have told ya’ll sooner, but It wasn’t official until this afternoon. Cue Happy Dance!
Yippee!! I’ll have knitting to show you tomorrow.
Hello, all my loyal blog readers! I’ve been having problems with Blogger lately, with uploading pictures and stuff, and I finally got sick of it. So, welcome to My new Blog, “If you want to Destroy My Sweater”. If you don’t get the title, It’s from a Weezer song. I’ll post the lyrics at the end of my post. I’m not stuck to this title, so If I think of something better, I might change, this is the only thing I could think of.
Anyway, with the few hours of experience with Word Press, it seems like a great blog host. It’s similar to Blogger in some ways, and I have yet to have any problems. Plus, this can do stuff that Blogger can’t. My blog can have more than one page (click ABOUT at the top to see my “About Me” page), and I can organize my posts by Categories. Cool stuff.
I also took the time to transfer all my posts from my “All She Wants to Do is Knit” blog to this one, which took freakin’ forever. But, I posted them all today, so there are months and months of posts all on one day. I’m still figuring out all that I can do on Word Press, but I can say right now that I like it a LOT better thanBlogger. Plus, there are more templates to choose from. It’s free, too.
So, if you please, Update your links and bloglines and bookmarks, I’ll be over here from now on. Sorry for the inconvenience.
And, the chorus to “Undone (The Sweater Song)” which inspired the name of my blog:
If you want to destroy my sweater…Woah-ah-woah-ah-woah.
Hold this thread as I walk away… As I walk away.
Watch me unravel, I’ll soon be naked.
Lying on the floor, lying on the floor
I’ve come undone.
I bought a skein of South West Trading Company “Optimum” from my local yarn store’s Sale Basket to knit a hat for my Dad for his Birthday. Hats are the only Knitted things that he will wear. So, I knit one and had (barely) enough for another. So, the other one is getting donated to Christmas Knits to Help “One at a Time Ministries”.
Yarn: Stated Above. This yarn is Amazing, it’s sooo soft! It kind of looks like Cotton, but Feels like Cashmere, even though it’s Wool. 1 Skein in “Silver”
Needles: US Size 10 Straight
Pattern: “One Flat Hat”
This pattern worked out well, It knits up in about 1.5-2 hours. And, it fits well (on my head, at least). I hope my dad Likes it. I have about 2 feet of yarn left from my skein, so I guess that worked out pretty well!
Ok, I cheated on my Socktoberfest vow to only knit socks during October, but A good friend’s Birthday is today and I decided to make her something. So, how about a hat?
It doesn’t look all that good on me, but It’s not for me, so I guess that’s okay! Here’s a close-up of the flower:
YARN: Lionbrand Wool Ease Thick and Quick in Fisherman and Mountain Colors New 3 Ply Wool in Juniper (For trim and flower)
NEEDLES: US Size 11 Circular (Knitted Flat), and US Size I Crochet Hook
PATTERN: Flower Cap from Midnight Knitter
I only did 2 things different from the Pattern. 1; I did 2 rounds of Single Crochet around the bottom instead of one. And 2; I made up my own flower, because the one from the pattern looked too big.
This pattern is awesome. I knit the white part in one episode of “Survivor” and one episode of “Grey’s Anatomy”. I would have finished the whole thing during that Time period, but I had to go find a crochet hook.
I’m going camping (Again) this weekend, this time to the beach for a Search and Rescue thing (Dad’s a lieutenant in Search and Rescue). Should be fun, although it has been raining off and on for a while. Keep your fingers crossed! See ya.
