A new start, a new outlook on Blogging.

I’ve become bored with my blog. Blogging seems to be more of an afterthought nowadays than anything else. I’m not saying that I don’t like blogging, I love blogging. I love the friends I’ve made from my blog, and I love showing off the stuff I make 🙂

It seems like all I blog about is what I’m knitting and try to post a picture when I’m done. I’m shaking it up. I’ve started a new blog, and I’m going to try to blog more often. Not just about knitting, but my life, and whatever I feel like blogging about. I’m stepping it up, people, so stand back.

I’ll be starting my new blogging adventures over at my new blog, Kaity Knits… A Lot. I was tired of trying to come up with clever blog titles, and I wanted something simple and easy. I’d say it get’s to the point, too.

I transfered all my archives and stuff over to my new blog, so if you’re looking for something on my blog, all my old posts are there, too.

Funky socks and quickie gifts

I’ve been working on those Cable-y socks lately. My sister spotted them and said she really liked them, and that’s fine with me. The pooling is kinda freaking me out, but Amy says she likes it. So, these will probably go to her.

Tomorrow, I start a week of house-sitting for my bestest friend, her and her parents are going on vacation and need someone to stay at their house, to be-friend their dog and water plants and such, so I’ve been thinking about what I want to bring to knit. I know that if I only bring one project with me, that It will get a chance to be finished.

I was gonna take those socks, but my younger cousin is having a birthday on Wednesday. I was thinking about what I wanted to make her, and decided on a OSW. She’s super skinny and little, so it will go fast. I hope it fits, I think i’ll just knit the smallest size. (Shh, no one tell her. I know her mommy reads my blog!)

Ok, I’m off to cast-on. I’ll bring my laptop and camera and everything, so I’ll be blogging during my week house-sitting. Nighty night my friends!

What that says about me.

I saw a little while back how Rilana listed the groups she’s in on Ravelry and described why, and I wated to, too. So, I’m a member of 16 groups.

On The Other Hand: for Lefties. That’s me. I gotta tell you, those college classrooms are discriminatory. I can’t reach over to those tiny desks that are attached to my seat in Bio, so I have to write notes in my lap. I should buy one of those lap-pad things.
Second Sock Syndrome Liberation Group: I love knitting socks, but so many of mine only have one sock per pair, but… do I care? No. I just like making them. Maybe someday they will be a pair.
So Cal Knitters: I actually started this group. It’s the best, here in So Cal.

The solidarity league of creative women distracted by oooh! shiny!: For those of us with Start-itis. I can’t help but to have a buttload of WIPs, I just love casting on, apparently!

As for real knitting, I found me a cabled sock pattern. Those Naive socks tryed to kill me, so I gave up on them for now. I’d like to make a pair eventually, just… not right now. I found the Rib and Cable sock pattern from an older Interweave Knits, and I know I have that magazine somewhere, but I just can’t find it. So, I’m making it up myself.

My spell checking doesn’t want to work today, and I’m to lazy to do it myself. So, any misspellings or grammar mistakes, just ignore them.

Oh My..

My Grandma recently went on a Weaving Excursion Vacation thingie in New Hampshire (I think that’s where she went…) and she told me that she brought me home some Fur from a couple of Goats that she met. Sweet!

Holy Guacamole, that is a lot of Fluff. Grandma told me that the goats names are Gilda, Phyllis, Thunder, and Kabob, and I think she said they where mohair goats? I took a picture of it next to my cat, so you could compare sizes, and my Cat is pretty Average sized, I would say.

I did my best to weight it, and I think it may be about 3 pounds? My weighing method may not have been to accurate. But, it’s a lot.

The only problem is, I don’t know what to do with it. When I spin, I like to spin from Roving. Nice, long, pre-carded strips of fluff. But this goat fluff isn’t in roving form, its… what do they call it? I dunno, but I like spinning from Roving. Anyone out there know how to card this fluff into roving, or whatever you do? Anyone want to card it for me, I’ll give you half! OR anyone wanna swap something with me for all this fluff? Anyone? It’s really nice stuff, super soft, I’d just like to be able to use it!
